Filing taxes can feel messy and confusing, especially for artists. Roll up your sleeves and get a head start on tax season this year with this workshop on taxes for artists, with tax preparer Lauren Semeschuk, who is also an artist!

In conversation with Inuk artist Yvonne Moorhouse, they’ll demystify the process and walk through the most important terms and documents artists need to understand. Topics will include self-employment income, deducting expenses, GST/HST, and more.

Lauren Semeschuk is a mover, collaborator and dance artist based in Tiohtiá:ke (Montréal) where she has worked and created with a variety of companies and choreographers. She is an Ilan Lev practitioner, Reiki practitioner and general movement nerd. She also has a secret side life: tax preparation! Lauren has 10+ years of experience preparing tax returns in Canada, with a specialty in returns for small business owners and artists alike.
