In this workshop, Ujarak Appadoo took us through how to make an amaaruti pattern for a child using a pattern used herself for her panik, based on measurements of a little girl. An amaaruti is also known as a snugly in parts of Inuit Nunaat but basically it is a modern version of the traditional amaut (amauti/amautik). Ujarak showed us how she sews a one prequilted layered amaaruti, what stitches she uses and what order to sew in. This free 1-hour workshop helped us gain the knowledge and skills to make our own amaaruti for children.

This workshop session took place online using Zoom. This workshop, like every De-ICE-olation event, was free.
