Nuit Blanche Toronto, Toronto’s award-winning, annual all-night celebration of contemporary art and North America’s biggest one-night art festival, took place from sunset on October 1st to sunrise on October 2, 2022. As part of Nuit Blanche, Ilinniaqtuit conducted artist interviews and gained hands on experience in the production of the event. In the lead-up to the festival, Ilinniaqtuit attended two panels during the Nuit Blanche + RUTAS Symposium: A Home for Our Migrations. Dr. Heather Igloliorte moderated the first panel, Dialogue / Conversatorio: Future and Sci-Fi, and the second panel, Dialogue / Conversatorio: Public Art(e) Acción (Part 3): Place and Memory was moderated by Inuit Futures Mentor Reneltta Arluk. Laakuluk Williamson Bathory delivered the symposium’s keynote address. 

Ilinniaqtuit spent the next day helping Inuit Futures Mentor Mark Igloliorte in the production of his work, Saputiit - Fish Weir Skate Plaza. Mark Igloliorte had two works on display: Saputiit – Fish Weir Skate Plaza, andTuvak AkKusinialuk Siaggijâk in Arctic XR (alongside works by Tanya Tagaq, Casey Koyczan, Nyla Innuksuk, Laakkuluk Wiliamson Bathory and Melaw Nakehk’o). 

Executive Director and Onsite Gallery Curator of Indigenous Art, and Inuit Futures Mentor, Ryan Rice, provided a curatorial tour of the exhibition, Up Front & Jordan Bennett x2, and Ilinniaqtuit also attended the opening of the exhibition, Land of None | Land of Us at Contact Gallery with Inuit Futures leadership group, alumni, mentors, coordinators and collaborators. Land of None | Land of Us debuted earlier in the year at the Arctic Arts Summit in Whitehorse, Yukon.
