Are you an artist seeking ways to elevate the visibility of your practice beyond a basic website or self-promotion on IG or other social media?
Join us on Thursday March 2 at 2pm ET/11am PT to learn about the IAQ Profiles, a centralized online resource, brought to you by the Inuit Art Foundation, that highlights the work of Inuit artists with tailor made artist profiles!
Associate editor Jessica MacDonald, in conversation with Inuit artist Gayle Kabloona, will highlight the huge benefits, exposure, and connections artists receive after signing up to create a profile with IAQ. They’ll then walk through the process of getting interviewed, providing feedback on your profile before it's published, and how you can get started!
Bring your questions, we’ll leave ample time for Q&A!
Jessica MacDonald is a writer and editor based in Toronto, ON. She is currently an Associate Editor with the Inuit Art Quarterly, where she has been a member of the editorial team since 2019.
Gayle Uyagaqi Kabloona is an Inuk artist and writer currently residing in Ottawa. She believes art and writing are valuable tools to express herself in a broad way and to make the world a little bit more Inuk. Her short story, "Utiqtuq,” appeared in Taaqtumi: An Anthology of Arctic Horror Stories (2019), published by Inhabit Media. She opened her first solo exhibition, Kajuhiutihimajatka: What I’m Carrying On, at the Art Gallery of Guelph last year, which brought her work together with that of her grandmother Victoria Mamnguqsualuk and great-grandmother Jessie Oonark. Her work is currently in the 30th anniversary group show Drawing on Our History at Carleton University Art Gallery in Ottawa.
The Ilisarniq Series is a new series of workshops for all Inuit artists, curators, writers, and art administrators to learn new skills and expand their practices organized by the Inuit Art Foundation and Inuit Futures in Arts Leadership. Join us for practical tips on how to apply for funding, price your work, make new kinds of work and more!
